SALMON & SUNSHINE
Spring done sprung in Seattle.
So I’m trying to step up my color game!
Today’s effort: a salmon and gold top by Zara, with gold accessories.
Zara shirt: $6.99, Seattle Goodwill (Ballard store)
Earrings: $10, NYC street vendor
Gold chain bracelet: $7.99, Seattle Goodwill (SLU store)
Turquoise and gold statement ring: $5, Seattle Goodwill (SLU store)
CHERRY BLOSSOM AWESOME
Once a year, something spectacular happens in the University of Washington quad.
If you’re into Japanese tradition, pink, or super-pretty things, you’ll be into this.
THE CHERRY TREES ARE IN 100% FULL BLOOM MODE!
Thousands of people have stalked them like paparazzi for the past three days. And they’ll only last for another two weeks, so see them while the gettin’s good.
Meantime, please enjoy my pink Halogen top, purchased for $9.99 at Seattle Goodwill (Ballard location.)
A BLOUSE BY ANY OTHER NAME…
I always feel a little Shakespeare-y in this blouse.
Even when I’m on the morning news.
I found it in NYC and fell in love, even before I realized how great a deal I was getting.
Most Elizabeth and James blouses retail for between $200-$300. But I found this one at the Buffalo Exchange in the East Village for $20!
For my interview with the stars of the upcoming movie DIVERGENT, I came up with some pertinent questions and prepared to be serious.
An impossibility, with Miles Teller and Jai Courtney.
2/3 of our interview is un-airable. But those are my favorite ones!
Now to the point of this blog:
My outfit was a blend of retail and resale. My top is from Necessary Clothing in NYC ($20,) but I thrifted my faux leather H&M skirt, new with tags, from Seattle Goodwill ($10.)
Some days, I do entertainment segments for our morning news show.
Some days, I wear outfits that were entirely thrifted.
Today, I did both!
Blue statement necklace: $6.99 at Seattle Goodwill, Ballard location
Talora for Nordstrom dress, made in Italy, brand new: $10 at Seattle Goodwill, SLU location (on a half-price tag day!)
I HEART YOU, BRACELET
Picked up this darling heart bangle for an even darling-er price!
$6.99 at Seattle Goodwill (Ballard location)
Yay for re-sale love!
HAPPY USED YEAR!
The end of 2013 was pretty hectic, so I hope you’ll excuse my recent absence. (I also hope you’ll tolerate the barrage of posts soon to come.)
We’ll start with this dress, a vintage Nicole Miller circa 1980-something based on the shoulder pads I removed. (Trust me. It’s better without the shoulder pads.)
Usually I’m intimidated by such a bold print, but I thought the graffiti stars were sort of perfect.
Did I mention the price was also perfect?
Thanks, Everett Goodwill!
Here’s to an equally thrifty 2014!

LUMBERJACK FOR LESS
In the PNW, cutting down your own Christmas tree is officially called “U-CUT” and practically the law.
It was raining when we went to the farm, so I used my new fun rain boots!
$15 at Seattle Goodwill - but I got them for half-price, so I only spent $7.50!
BIG OL’ BAG
FINALLY - this is the bag I bought at the Goodwill Glitter sale a couple of weeks ago!
It’s a bucket by Italian designer Nazareno Gabrielli (but since I got it for $10, it’s likely faux.)
I still loves it, though! As evidenced by the way I can’t take my eyes off it in this picture, courtesy of photographer Ava Van!
